Sculpture "Heracles"
  • Sculpture "Heracles"

HERAKLES is an oracle-, as well as healing god and son of Zeus and the beautiful Alkmene. Heracles was the greatest hero of ancient Greece and is best known for his twelve heroic deeds.

A hero is also the tree trunk, from which this piece of wood comes. Unformed, wild, warped. Several thousand years in the Danube have preserved the trunk and given it its appearance before it was discovered and salvaged during dredging work in the Danube. One edge piece of it shapes the appearance of this art object.

Siegmar Pargfrieder ennobles this sculpture with two Swarovski crystals of different colours. Each individual piece is glued by hand. LED lighting technology rounds off the total art object, which gives the sculpture the function of a floor lamp.
